Solar Cooking Classes - San Fernando Valley Time Exchange
Hi Paul - I saw your comment on the San Fernando Valley Time Exchange website. I am the coordinator and also the solar cooking instructor. Normally, our skills classes are open to members only. However, since I teach the class, I invite the public. I will be scheduling a class in the spring when the weather is sunny and the winds die down. The location will likely be a public park. Here is my email address SFVTimeExchange@gmail.com

That's great Debbie. Please post on the Calender of Events when you have a date, or I will help with posting.

Thanx Paul. I manufacture these amazing "Mirrors of Hope" and would like them to spread throughout the earth.

Long IP blocks
Hi Paul; It is counterproductive to block an IP for more than a day unless it is a repeat offender. Many or most IP are dynamic. This means that if the next visit is more than a day or so later, a vandal will have a new IP and your block will not affect him/her. However, if a desirable visitor happens to be assigned the IP that you have blocked anytime in the next six months, s/he will get an IP blocked message and will be discouraged. Even a repeat vandal IP may belong to a school with desirable visitors. Our experience on Wikimedia Commons is that a 1 day block discourages most vandals. Best wishes, Walter Siegmund (talk) 17:27, May 26, 2011 (UTC)
- Let's compromise and block everyone for three days. My understanding is that Comcast cable internet users, for example, keep the same IP address for months and are only issued a new address if they or Comcast resets their cable modem. I'm not too worried about inadvertently blocking a user here and there who happens to have the same IP address as the offender had. It would make me feel safer if we just block the offender if he checks the page in the next day or two to see if his vandalism is still there. It would save us work and embarrassment if he found himself blocked at that time. Thanks for the warning, Walt.

Sorry about the grating!
Duh. Sorry you have to drive all the way back to pick it up.

Hi Paul, I sent an email to Tom, but needed my photo tags to be changed to "Kirk-ook" rather than Kirk-Cook. It was a typo on my part. Thanks!

Photo for article
I'm with AmazonPartnerships.org, and we'd love to use your photo of the SunFire Solutions solar cooker for one of our articles. We will give you credit and link back to your Wikia profile.
Please let me know if this creates a problem, or if there's something else we can do.
I am searching someone that could help us with a work shop in the Bandundu region in DRC. Could you please give a tip?
