United Religions Initiative (URI) is a youth-based organization that has been working globally on environmental, community and conflict resolution issues since 2000. We the youth from Uganda still keep our promise of working together to achieve our theme taking the initiative in Uganda we are conducting activities aimed at safeguarding the environment through alternative sources of energy for people living in rural areas and internally displaced persons camps in northern and eastern Uganda.

In partnership with Solar Cookers International and the Solar Connect Association in Uganda, we assist communities to use the power of the sun to cook food and pasteurize water for the benefits of the people and the environment by saving the trees cut down for charcoal leading to deforestation and also respiratory diseases caused through open fire cooking
