To help us with this wiki, just choose a task below and put your name next to it. When you are finished, move the task to the finished tasks section at the bottom of the page. See also What you can do to promote solar cooking.

One-time tasks

  • Fix the formatting on Lejofonds.
  • Go to each page linked to from here and change the category name on each so that the word "Presented" in the category title is lower case. Then delete the old category and create the new category.
  • Implement on the site the new definition of a stub: An article with no text other than links and categories. A stub is now officially a page that has no text at the top before the first section (External links, Contact, etc.). Thus go through all Category:Cooking Stubs, Category:NGO Stubs, etc. and remove the stub template if the page has some text
  • Add link to Past events to each country page.

Wishlist

  • Change redirect from http://scwnet.org to point to new top page.
  • Go through site to make sure that metric system is used first with US measurments in parens after.
  • Add links to existing categories from each of the Compendium pages.
  • Redo Buy a solar cooker.
  • Consider making "Sponsored by SCI" hot in Monaco template.
  • Mark all appropriate NGOs with Category:NGOs employing carbon credits,
  • Add template to allow the display of a Google map and Google Earth KML file for important projects.
  • Integrate these cookers into the site: All solar cooking manufacturers on Alibaba.com
  • Add "Details" templete to French wiki to point to main articles from solar cooker photo pages.
  • Copy links to all project evaluations where SCI was a participant (see Refugee camps) to SCI#Reports.
  • Write to all Category:Solar Cookers World Network members whose pages are stubs asking for more information.
  • Integrate the advice given here into the discussion about cultural variables.
  • Add {{CategoryDetails|Countryname}} to each country category page as I have here.
  • Change links in Spanish Archive to point to Spanish Wiki. Do same with French.
  • Update GoogleTranslationLinksFromSpanish (and French, and Portuguese) so that they contain all current languages.
  • Make sure all documents from http://solarcooking.org/docs.htm are correctly placed in the Wiki.
  • Find the best videos on YouTube and integrate them into the Wiki.
  • Work on harvesting email address by category.
  • Integrate any pertinent information from the HEDON Wiki into our Wiki. http://www.hedon.info/Category:SolarCookers
  • Go through old newsletters and add links to good, general-purpose article like this one.
  • Write to each individual or NGO that has a page marked as a stub asking for more info.
  • Decide whether the country pages should actually be the category pages.
  • Write to all solar cooker manufacturers here and invite them to add pages to the wiki.
  • Recruit "subject matter experts" for each country.
  • Add an "Events" section to the to of every (or only the most popular) country pages. Did this for USA and Mexico.
  • Make sure all templates are protected.
  • Check all external links on the site to make sure that they still work.
  • Add article: Solar cooking in winter
  • Redo Canning.
  • Integrate Solar cooker models compared into site.
  • Add important audios to YouTube after adding still video frame.
  • Add other newsletters to Category:Newsletters
  • Add category: Large-scale solar cooking projects
  • Consider adding categories like [[Category:NGOs using CooKits]].
  • Make sure French wiki's {{Liens de traduccion}} template has all available languages.
  • Add details from many different NGOs about how they have set up Microcredit.
  • Add page that discusses the participation by the UN in solar cooking.
  • Add links to each of these cookers for sale on Amazon using associate querystring.
  • Add links from pages in the Spanish part of the Archive pointing to the Spanish Wiki.

On-going tasks

  • Keep an eye on Special:Webtools to see what people are searching for. Add redirects to make sure that common search phrases land at the right page.
  • Add information to the pages marked as stubs.
  • Add a trivia question to the top page with an answer available in the site.

Completed tasks

  • Abigail Fay 12:37, December 6, 2009 Add redirects for countries whose name is different in French and Spanish (e.g., Algérie).
  • Abigail Fay 12:37, November 19, 2009 Starting with Zimbabwe and going backwards in the alphabet in Countries, go through the History of solar cooking sections looking for red links. Check to see if there are slight text variations that are causing these links to be broken.
