Tile Tasuma is an association that Lorin Symington helped found while he was in Mali promoting the Solar Fire Project with his grandfather, Fraser Symington. It is a nonpartisan nonprofit that pursuant to Act No. 04-038 of 05 August 2004. The headquarters of the association is located in the city of Bamako. Tile Tasuma's mission is to popularize economically feasible solar oven technology and use solar energy to meet energy need (cooking, water purification, drying fruits and vegetables, etc..) of the Malian population.
Members of the assosiciation (locals) are still in Bamako, Mali and the knowledge of solar fire technologies still exist there but there is not currently anyone in a leadership role. As a result, the association is not currently active, but there are plans for it resume in the near future.
