Tara Miller and her husband, Sam Brown, first introduced solar cookers (and solar electric) to Taquile Island on Lake Titicaca in 1996. Lake Titicaca is located at the northern end of the Altiplano basin, high in the Andes on the border of Peru and Bolivia. They have continued to return to visit every couple years, becoming godparents and developing a close and lasting relationship with the local community.

Tara Miller and her husband, Sam Brown, first introduced solar cookers (and solar electric) to Taquile Island on Lake Titicaca in 1996.
