She started as a volunteer back in 2003 and when [[Solar Cookers International]] (SCI) began the Kajiado Solar cooking project she became the supervisor. She worked with the Maasai SCOREPS (Solar Cooker Representatives) in promoting solar cooking and energy efficient stoves in Kajiado District from 2006 - 2008. Due to demand from the Eastern region she moved to Machakos Town in 2009 to spread the technology as the sun is in abundance is this region.

She was later transferred back to Nairobi - East Africa regional office as an Assistant Field officer. After [[Faustine Odaba]] left SCI, Stella became the lead trainer and program manager. She traveled to [[Tanzania]], [[Chad]], [[Ghana]], [[Rwanda]] and [[Uganda]] to conduct Training of Trainers (TOT) organized by various NGO's. She was also a participant in Lustrum Symposium in TU Delft in the [[Netherlands]] in 2008, where she gave a speech on Solar Cooking for sustainability.

Currently Stella continues to demonstrate, teach and advocate solar cooking as she partners with Faustine Odaba of [[NAREWAMA]] (Natural Resources and Waste Management Alliance) where they have conducted several training around Nairobi in the Kariobangi and Mukuru slums.
