Solar Cooking

While it would be expensive and impractical to cook food by using an electric burner powered by solar photovoltaic cells, the concept of solar hybrid cooking combines three technologies to actually make something like this possible. The bulk of the heat for cooking comes from a solar hot water panel. After the water has been heated to near boiling, it only takes a small amount of photovoltaic power to bring the water up to a full boil for a time. Then the power is turned off and the food continues to cook inside an insulated container.
