Solar Cooking:About
From Solar Cooking
If you do anything with solar cookers - design them, manufacture them, promote them, use them - or even just support others using them - this website is for you. The purpose of this wiki is to encourage the spread of solar cooking worldwide to improve quality of life and reduce the contribution of fuelwood cooking to deforestation and global warming.
This wiki was inspired by requests to make the Solar Cooking Archive more interactive. On a wiki, everyone can contribute. We hope you will use this wiki to get ideas and contribute your own, to make contacts, to inspire others or to be inspired. We also hope this wiki will turn into the place on the internet to get information on solar cooker theory, designs, plans, strategies, contributors (large and small), activities, etc. This is our online village where we all share what we know to make solar cooking a reality around the world.
[edit] Ideas for how to contribute
- If you are active in the solar cooking movement, check Who's who in the solar cooking movement and see if you are listed.
- If you are listed, click on your page. Then click on the "edit" tab and modify your page. Add to it, or correct what's there.
- If you are not listed, add a page for yourself by putting your name in the box below and clicking Create article, then write something about yourself on the new page. At the end, put so you show up in Who's who. You might also want to add so you show up in the list of resources for your country.
- If you work for a non-governmental organization, look for it in Category:NGOs. If it's there, correct it and add to it. If it's not there, create it! Just like for an individual page, create it using the box below, edit it, and add to the page.
- Look for your country in Country by country resources. If it's there, correct it and add to it. If it's not there, create it!
If you have questions or suggestions, you can email Tom Sponheim, the friendly webmaster of the Solar Cooking Archive and one of the sysops of this wiki, at webmaster@solarcooking.org.
