SIAPv2.1-SolarBug

The SolarBug looks like a large bug with a body chamber and two wings. The body chamber is made of transparent glass on three sides and wood on the remaining sides. It is used to house pots and utensils for cooking.

The two wings are made of four mirrors, two on each wing. While in operation, the wing is fully expanded to collect the sun's rays. The inclination angles can be adjusted to best reflect the sun. During transportation and storage, the wings can be folded into an "M" shape and further reduced into a square box.

The recorded achievable temperature is around 110°C and it has been used to successfully boil eggs, cook rice and bake hotdogs.
