The steam heated cooking chamber of the Saracon Solar Cooker.

The Saracon solar cooker uses a trough style, parabolic collector to produce steam that is directed into an insulated cooking box. The cooker is used to prepare meals for 15 - 30 residents of Auroville, an "experimental" township in the Viluppuram district, in Tamil Nadu, India, near Puducherry in South India.
