Rachel Andres a researcher for the JWW Jewish World Watch NGO from Los Angelles, is the first woman to recieve the Bronfman prize for 2008, for her organizing of the Darfur solar oven project. She is an orthodox practicing Jew. JWW is partly funded by the Jewish Federation.
