Our Lady of Perpetual Help Education Centre (OLPHEC) is an Education Centre in the Nyeri district, in Central Province, Kenya, Africa. We provide education, health care, food, shelter, and clothing to over 200 children. All of our expenses are payed for by sponsors in the United States and Canada. One of our volunteers, Melissa Dalzell, received a grant through CSU, Chico to help with sustainability and environmental issues. One of the projects she hopes to pursue in January 2009 is bringing solar ovens to the Centre and the local community. With the help and support of Solar Cookers International, she received many supplies and literature to help with the project. She also hopes to help OLPHEC start composting and offer environmental education.
