I am an engineer born in Sri Lanka in1950. Thanks to SCI website I learnt how to make a solar box cooker. I modified it to suit to Sri Lankan conditions. Having tested it I found that it is very quite suitable for low income families to cook their meals without any fuel cost. Also it is very eco-friendly and safe method for cooking meals as well as drying, simmering and for various other kitchen needs. When the fossil fuel finidhes in about 40 years the whole world will go for this for cooking their meals.
Above all I invented a very effective herbal mosquito repellent (HMR) on 15/04.2010 by simmering betel leaves in a solar box cooker. I wish someday my invention will help saving the life of millions of people die all over the world due to various mosquito-borne diseases.
