Mary Buchenic lives in Hubbard Ohio, USA. Beginning in 1995, she taught solar cooking for 15 years, working with approximately 1,500 students over that period.
As an educator, her goal was to design learning opportunities for students that would empower them to think, question, create, understand, and act. As a retired educator and a volunteer, her goal now is to support the Science Center with participation in monthly committee meetings and involvement in programming preparation. A solar cooker project is an annual event at the Science Center.
