Jamie Berg 2008 2
Jamie Berg, an attorney from San Diego, just returned from a two month humanitarian mission in Tanzania. One of the many projects she shepherded was a solar cooker project in a Masaii village above Arusha.

Here is a sample of the commentary on her project:

"The enthusiasm with which this presentation was received, was overwhelming. The villagers were truly inspired by the concept and showed, through their thoughtful and provocative questions, as well as the support that they offered throughout the presentation, that they fully understood the limitations of the solar cookers but also the advantages of solar cooking and how this new and simple tool could greatly improve their lives.

They also expressed their gratitude for showing them a new way to avoid the devastating health issues of smoke inhalation and burn injuries suffered by the children of the village under the current cooking methods."
