Besides being a strong advocate for solar cooking, Jackie Harsha is a former member of the Maricopa Association of Governments Water Quality Advisory Board, and helped spur water conservation in new home subdivisions in the Phoenix metro area by working with the Arizona Municipal Water Users Association and Central Home Builders' Association of Arizona to promote low water use landscape techniques in new home subdivisions in Arizona. Jackie Harsha has been solar cooking since 2001, and is the author of Heaven Sent Food - A Guide to Solar Cooking. Published in 2008, the book has been well received by people who are solar cooks and people who want to learn more about solar cooking so they can start using the energy of the sun to create delicious, nutritious food and save energy and money.
