Where two articles have similar content and you wish to merge them, you may simply decide which page name should remain, copy part or all of the other page to the chosen one and merge the text where appropriate, then convert the other page to a "redirect".

However, where each page has a history, it may be better to preserve all the history in the one page. See Help:Administrators' how-to guide#Merging page histories.
