The Fogão Parabólico was designed by Elmo Dutra. It is n unique parabolic solar cooker. The reflector is made from four recycled plastic panels covered with reflective Mylar. The panel framework creates the required curved shape.

It is a lightweight design, at 3.8 kg (8.4 lbs). With the reflector assembled, it measures 90 cm x 90 cm, with a light catchment area of .81 square meters. Dissassembled in the box the unit is 60 cm x 60 cm. Potentially, it can deliver thermal power of 700 watts.
