Summary

  • Description: Convection heat transport coefficient for a vertical cavity, aspect ratio, (H/L) >= 10, ambient temperature = 30°C (86°F),. Heat flow is horizontal (applicable to the walls of the oven). The heat transfer coefficient decreases as the space between the glazing increases until the onset of convection whereupon the coefficient begins to increase slowly. The optimal spacing is about 10 mm.
