Summary

  • Description: Convection heat transport coefficient for a rectangular cavity tilted tau=0° from horizontal, aspect ratio, (H/L) >= 12, ambient temperature = 30°C (86°F),. Heat flow is upward. The heat transfer coefficient decreases as the space between the glazing increases until the onset of convection whereupon the coefficient begins to increase. The optimal spacing is about 10 mm but may be less for ovens intended to operate above 100°C.
