The Easy Solar Stove (tm) reaches interior temperatures of about 130°C/265°F in full sun in about 15 minutes, and will cook rice in about 3 hours. Cooking times are similar to a conventional 'slow cooker'.
The Easy Solar Stove is inexpensive to manufacture - about US$7.25. Ships flat - sets up in a few minutes using sixteen 3" sheetrock screws. Completed stoves are available for $29.95 US, including shipping and handling - USA destinations, only..

The Easy Solar Stove is constructed from 3/4" (2cm) Styrofoam Sheathing (also sold under a number of other brand names), cut to size with a clear plexiglas cover. The sheathing is sold in 4 x 8 sheets(1.33m.x 2.44m x 2cm) at lumberyards all over the world. This material is stable to over 400F, making it ideal for this purpose.
The stove is waterproof, stable - it will not tip over, and it is constructed to last a long time. The exterior never gets hot, so it is safe to have around children.
No plastic bag is required, and condensation is not a problem. The exterior dimensions are 11 x 14 x 11 inches- 28 x 36 x 28 cm. It will follow the sun with only three adjustments throughout the day.
While "Ball" jars are shown, it is also possible to use a 4 liter cooking pot. These are shown in the double-wide units.
Because the stoves are a substantial box style, they are less likely to be disturbed when accidentally bumped, unlike an open panel cooker.
