The Dierkx Solar Cooker was initially developed by J. Dierkx in 1982.  The slanted front of this box-cooker design  was specifically intended to create internal circulation when a small quantity of water is placed in the front (and is transformed into steam by the heat of the cooker).  Construction plans are freely available (see below), and the [[Solar Cooker Workgroup Sliedrecht NL]] also offers the cooker as a kit.<br />

The Dierkx Solar Cooker was initially developed by J.
