Clyde Lambourne is native of New Zealand, growing up in Bay of Islands area. With an active interest in energy conservation for many years, he joined a group of of enthusiasts as they were setting up the Alternative Technology and Lifestyle Association (ATLA Inc.), whose agenda was to learn as much as possible about developments and techniques in low environmental impact living, and to also make opportunities for others to learn. Solar cooking has been a natural offshoot of this mission.
