Citizens for Solar is a Tucson, Arizona non-profit solar energy organization. Our mission is to educate the general public about the benefits of solar power by demonstrating solar technology and helping people become part of the solar culture. To this end we put on one major event each year, The Annual Solar Potluck and Festival of the Sun.

Citizens for Solar November 2016
  • November 2016: Thousands of 4th-8th grade students were treated to four dozen or so great exhibitors demonstrated by the likes of Biosphere 2, Honeywell, IBM and the favorite hands down Skip's Solar Cooking. For the "Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics" event Skip Moen and his lovely assistant Loretta had one rule for the  knowledge and cookie hungry students. They had to come up with a solar or solar cooking related question for them to answer before they received their chocolate chipped reward. Skip and Loretta were aided by Chuck Wacker and Jose Arizpe from the Solar Guild with all of the days activities and the students certainly kept all involved very busy. Thanks to all the students for such wonderful enthusiasm.
