Centro de Ciência Viva

From Solar Cooking

Centro de Ciência Viva de Tavira was started by a Portuguese team to teach the skills necessary to build solar ovens in Cape Verde. The team was comprised of students and teachers from Tavira, as well as technicians of the LCC. "We always use local materials, so as not to create an external dependency. All that is needed to build a solar oven can be found with relative ease and almost no cost. Nearly one month after the group from Tavira traveledl to Cape Verde, officials already were in place to work and spread their newly acquired knowledge to other communities throughout the country.
