You guys need to check the math in thiis article. I'm getting a difference of 20 degrees C and about 34 degrees F (not certain, because I'm not looking at that page now. ;)

Also, you really ought to mention that nearly as far back as recorded history goes, people have been putting clay pots in rivers and creeks, and draping wet cloth over them to use the evaporative effect for cooling.

Off wiki topic, I found myself wondering if this could be used to make a sand barrel water bio-filter. I also found myself wondering if there would be a better medium to use than sand, or if sand is simply the most widely available. Finally, Since the evaporative effect transfers heat to the water, I was wondering if it wouldn't be better to let the water trickle out the bottom and try to keep the sand moist.

I'm not sure if you even WOULD address al of those topics in the article, but I was wondering if you could list other sources of information on the topic, besides the rolex site.
