Antonia Clark lives in Newcastle, England, and has been developing a solar oven with help from students from Newcastle University. Her goal is to create a solar oven that both works well and can be built easily with local materials in developing countries. In 2012 she traveled to Tanzania to explore sources for oven building materials for the prototype solar cooker. She wishes to promote the solar cooker through the local charity, SunCatchers.

A design objective for the stove is that it be able to be manufactured locally, by the women being trained in its use. This type of investment in time by the women, and pride of ownership, helps to ensure the continued use of solar cookers.
